Garamba National Park is one of Africa's oldest national parks, established in 1938 and designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980. Covering 4,920 square kilometers in northeastern Democratic Republic of Congo, it represents one of the continent's most important protected areas.
The park is characterized by its vast savannah grasslands, gallery forests, and diverse wildlife populations. Garamba is particularly famous for its elephant herds and the rare Kordofan giraffe, making it a unique destination for wildlife enthusiasts.
